The woman had been targeted and accused of blasphemy due to wearing a kurta adorned with Arabic calligraphy, mistakenly interpreted as Quranic verses. Shehrbano’s swift intervention prevented a potentially tragic situation, earning her admiration both locally and internationally.

The unfortunate incident unfolded when a woman found herself embroiled in a blasphemy accusation after wearing a kurta adorned with Arabic calligraphy in Lahore’s Achhra Market. The script, which read “حلوة (Hilwa),” translates to “beautiful” in English, but it was misconstrued by some as Quranic verses.
